Last evening as the snow fell steadily outside, slowly turning our brown and green world into white, I sat by the fire, sipping cocoa and reading this wonderful book, pausing every few moments to watch the snowfall. The falling snow, the book, and the afternoon were all perfectly delightful. This morning, I did the same though my beverage was coffee and the snow was barely a whisper. Have you read this wonderful book? Oh my goodness, if you have not, then DO!!! Enchanting and wonderful from the very first page. And the illustrations by Angela Harding (one of my favorite artist) make it all the more lovely.
As I am writing this, the snow is beginning to fall more thickly ~ my goodness, it is absolutely beautiful.
IN THE STUDIO ~ Today, I have spun cotton turkeys and snowfolke ornaments to pack and send on their merry way. This afternoon, I shall add ink to the pencil sketch I did yesterday for the December issue of The Gazette. I think this drawing is the loveliest and best one I have ever made, and can not wait to share it with all of you. I must get it off to Mavis Butterfield (who turns my drawings into rug hooking designs) as soon as I can. I also plan to bring it to life through wool applique. Later I have wool socks to darn, a pork roast with apples, onions, carrots, and potatoes to make for dinner, but first…I must put a loaf of sourdough bread to rise.
Are you seeing snow in your area? Are you stitching, baking, writing, drawing, painting……….creating?
I leave you with a short video I took yesterday afternoon :) Isn’t it lovely?
Be well friends and have a joyful day, Doreen
