“Properly practiced, knitting soothes the troubled spirit, and it doesn't hurt the untroubled spirit either.” ~ Elizabeth Zimmermann
Glad Tidings friends. Tis chilly here in Vermont this morning. The trees are swaying in the brisk north wind as the sun begins to warm the earth. This weekend’s rain gave a boost to our leaves as they begin to put on their Autumnal makeup. We had a quiet weekend and enjoyed a gorgeous Autumn Day on Saturday. Mark started putting our winter wood in the basement while I did a bit of organizing, order filling, baking and knitting. I am a novice knitter and mistakes can be found, but I am ever so pleased with how it is progressing. This is the Louvre Shawl by Hand Knit Artisans on Etsy. I am using the suggested yarn; Malabrigo “Rios” in Cosmos. This is my first time using this yarn and I LOVE IT! I cannot wait to wear my shawl! Knitting transports me to the world of Little Women. Outside, snow softly falls, sheep, donkeys, and cows are tucked warmly in the barn while inside, I sit by a roaring fire, my chair rocks and my needles hum as bread bakes in the oven and cocoa fills my mug :).
speaking of cocoa….I must pause and make myself some…… be right back…;)
Okay…lets continue… Cocoa, mmmm! Oh, how I love this time of year. Do you add cinnamon to your cocoa? If not, you should. It is scrumptious.
WHAT DOES YOUR WEEK HOLD?
This morning after running a batch of orders down to the mailbox, I am diving into my Autumn cleaning. I usually do this in late October, early November but I am feeling the need to take care of it sooner this year. This is when I make our house cozy for the upcoming cold weather. I give it a really good scrub, wash the windows inside and out, put my Autumn decorations inside and out, place cozy blankets over every surface, add extra pillows and put my sherpa throw on the couch. This year I am also adding some room rearranging… I have outgrown my studio space (a bedroom in our house) so I am making a switch and moving our bedroom to my studio space and our old bedroom, which is quite large, will become my new studio. Anyone want to come over and help???
Must begin…wish me luck!!
Wishing you a joy filled day and a WONDERFUL WEEK. XO Doreen
Shawl is taking shape! Looks nice Doreen!
Oh! Your shawl will be lovely, Doreen...and so much moreso for the making of it! I knit occasionally, but I must admit it is a challenge for me. I knit the Jane Eyre shawl and had to frog and re-knit 14 times before I got the concept of short rows. But I did it!
